We are currently installing new doors in the stairwell in Lauinger Library. During this time, visitors will not be able to use landings that are under construction, either to enter that floor or pass through en route to another. We encourage visitors to use the elevators, although the stairwell may still be used to access floors that are not under construction. Landings under construction should only be used in the case of an emergency.

Staff Excellence Award Descriptions

The University Librarian’s Award honors leadership resulting in the advancement of Library goals and objectives; a significant accomplishment that had a positive impact on the Library, the campus, or the profession; or creativity and/or innovations that enhanced Library services, operations or image.

The Lauinger Library Award honors the work of an individual to recognize significant accomplishments that had a positive impact on divisional goals and objectives; a contribution to the department, division or Library that resulted in cost savings, streamlined processes, enhanced services; contributions of time and/or extra effort to successfully implement a project or program or an unsung hero/heroine whose contribution has gone unnoticed but continually helps support the work of the Library.

The Team Spirit Award honors a team, a committee or task force (any formal group) by recognizing the completion and successful implementation of a specific task or project that had a positive impact on the unit, department, division or Library in the way of cost savings, streamlined processes, and/or enhanced services.

The Kindred Spirit Award honors staff for contributions to the campus community including community service contributions that had a positive impact on the core mission of the university; furthered the role of the Library on campus; or through collaborations with other campus departments and/or personnel, enhanced the Library’s image and/or role as an educational partner.
