Ambassador George C. McGhee Papers

The library recently received an initial portion of the papers of the Honorable George C. McGhee, former United States Ambassador to West Germany. These papers will make available to researchers basic information on Ambassador McGhee's service with the Advisory Council, the Urban Coalition, and other organizations. Of particular interest are extensive files documenting Ambassador McGhee's work during World War II with the Combined Raw Materials Board. A preliminary finding aid for the papers has been prepared so that they are already available to scholars desiring to use them.
