A Bundle of Thanks Although we attempt to acknowledge in this Newsletter the major gifts of books, journals and other materials received from our Associates, it is not possible to say "thank you" publicly to the many donors who give valuable gifts to this library. All gifts are vitally important to our library development, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each of our Associates who so generously contributed material during the past year. Your gifts are important. Please keep them coming to the library. Will Power The development of any great library collection is a result of two equally important acquisition activities. First, solid annual support for the purchase of important new books and journals, and second, the availability of special endowments and restricted funds for the purchase of materials in specific subject fields. Such funds usually are associated with the generosity of dedicated individuals. Some are created during the lifetime of a donor, while others are formed as the result of specific legacies. The University Librarian will be happy to meet with any Associate interested in exploring the idea of establishing an endowment or restricted book fund either now or as a future legacy. |
