In Memoriam We note with sadness the deaths of several very special friends of Lauinger Library over the past months. Timothy S. Healy, S.J., on January 30, 1992, Georgetown University President from 1976 to 1989, who generously increased the library's endowment for new acquisitions; President of the New York Public Library at the time of his death. J. John Jova, on March 31, member of the Library Advisory Council since 1980 and staunch supporter; former ambassador to Honduras, the Organization of American States, and Mexico. Cecil B. Lyon, former ambassador to Chile and Ceylon, who presented his diplomatic archive to the library (cf. Aug. 1992 Library Associates newsletter). John A. K. Donovan, former Virginia state senator, who increased the library's holdings of rare Irish works (cf. article in this issue). Harold N. Glassman, G'49 William J. Lawlor, C'28 Eugene C. Moyer, SBA'43 |
