A Century of Basketball

The University Archives and the Hoya Hoop Club hosted a reception in February to open the exhibit in Lauinger Library’s Gunlocke Room entitled Georgetown Men’s Basketball 1906-1907 to 2006-2007: Ten Coaches, Ten Players, and Ten Decades of Hoops.

Basketball Memorabilia

Pat McArdle from the Athletics Department presented Artemis Kirk and University Archivist Lynn Conway with a box of memorabilia for the Archives, relating to the 100th anniversary of men’s basketball at Georgetown during the reception. Included were a basketball cap, t-shirts, posters, a bottle of Coke with a Georgetown basketball centennial label, and a bottle of Merlot with the label “100 Years of Georgetown Basketball - Hoya Saxa - Basketball Centennial Weekend - February 2007 - Washington, D.C. - Merlot - Paso Robles 2003 - A Gift of Robert Mintzer Wagner, F’48”.
