Annual Meeting The 1979 Annual meeting of the Associates is being planned for Saturday, June 9, at 8 p.m. in the Pierce Reading Room of the Joseph Mark Lauinger Memorial Library. The speaker will be a distinguished alumnus, Dr. David M. Abshire, '59 Ph.D., Chairman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, who will discuss current international problems and survey prospects for the future. Dr. Abshire was Assistant Secretary of State for Congressional Relations, a member of the Congressional Commission on the Organization of the Government for the Conduct of Foreign Policy, and the first chairman of the United States Board for International Broadcasting. He is a director of the United States Board for International Broadcasting. He is a director of the Atlantic Council and a member of the Trilateral Commission. He was the founder and co-editor of Washington Quarterly, and he is the author of several books and articles on diplomacy and foreign policy. The exhibit of James Brown
Scott papers in the Gunlocke Room will be open after the meeting. All
Associates are invited to attend the annual meeting, and guests are welcome.
