Browse academic journals and save articles on the go with BrowZine for Android, now available in the Google Play store! And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to download BrowZine for your iPhone, iPad, Android tablet or Kindle Fire.

BrowZine allows you to access more than 14,000 of the scholarly journals Georgetown provides from your iPhone or tablet in an intuitive, easy-to-use interface. Log in with your Georgetown NetID and you’ll be able to browse by title or topic to find journals of interest. Once you’ve found one you like, you can save it to your “bookshelf” for easy access. When new issues of your saved journals come out, you’ll receive a notification.

You can also save individual articles, which will download to your device for offline access. In addition, you can email articles, share them on social media or export them to a variety of other programs.

And now, with BrowZine available for Android, you can create an individual BrowZine account that will sync your saved journals and articles across all your devices. In addition, the saved article limit has been increased to 500 articles and Android users will now be able to save up to 64 journals to their “bookshelf.”

To get started using BrowZine, go to the App Store (iPad and iPhone), Google Play (Android phone and tablet) or Amazon (Kindle) and download the app for free. Once it has downloaded, enter your NetID and password and start browsing!

To learn more, watch the BrowZine introductory video. To find out if your favorite journals are available on BrowZine, download our searchable list.

With the end of the shutdown of the Federal Government today, October 17, 2013, most electronic resources managed by Federal agencies will again be updated or will have public access restored. At the time of this writing, a cursory search indicates that many government websites, including those managed by the Library of Congress, the Bureau of the Census, and the National Institutes of Health, have been restored for full public access.

Keep in mind that some agencies may take longer to restore access to all of their electronic assets.

If you have any questions, or experience any problems with government resources linked from Georgetown's library systems, please contact E-Resources at eresources@georgetown.edu.
