Retrieval Services
Lauinger Retrieval Service
If you are a faculty member or graduate student in a department housed
in the Reiss Science Building and you want a science journal shelved in
Lauinger Library, you may request that the item be retrieved for you. The
item will be retrieved from Lauinger Library and held for you at the Science
Library Circulation Desk. Most requests are filled in one to two days.
Service is slower when classes are not in session. Request forms can be found
at the Blommer Science
Library Circulation Desk.
Riggs Storage Retrieval
If the item you want is stored in the Science Library storage facility
(Riggs Storage), Library staff will retrieve the needed item. Material
is usually retrieved on a daily basis, in the morning and the afternoon of
each weekday and once each weekend day. Service is slower
when classes are not in session. Requests forms can be found at the Science
Library Circulation Desk.
Off
Campus Storage Retrieval
Items shelved in the off campus storage facility can be retrieved by using
the Request Item option in GEORGE. Instructions for using this option are here.

Other Services
Computer Assisted Literature Searches
This service, performed by a Librarian, provides, for a fee, bibliographies
of journal articles tailored to the specific research needs of the patron.
Computer searches can be especially useful when you are researching a complex
topic. The Library absorbs the first $75.00 of charges; requesters are responsible
for any charges over $75.00.
For more information, ask a Librarian or phone 687-5651.
Lost and Found
A "lost and found" box is kept at the Circulation Desk
in the Blommer Science Library. Valuables are transferred to the University's
lost and found area in the Department of Public Safety daily.
New Books
New books are displayed and are available for check out on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Books remain on the new book shelf for a week. A list
of new books acquired during the previous quarter is available in the Library.
Photocopiers and Printer
There are two photocopy machines and one laser printer for printing from
library databases and the Internet in the Blommer Science Library.
You have to use your GOCard to print. The cost is $0.10/page. Copy machines
work with cash and GOCard. Copies cost $0.10/copy.
There are no VTS (Value Transfer Stations) machines in the Blommer Science
Library. The closest is in the Leavey Center. Visitors can purchase guest
cards from the VTS
machines.

menu option on GEORGE.
A maximum of three reserve items may be checked out at a time.
Reserve materials are loaned for a shorter period of time, ranging from

return reserve materials on time to
the Circulation Desk.
