Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) will discontinue the desktop/client version of SciFinder Scholar on June 30, 2011. From this date, Georgetown University will only have access to the web version of SciFinder.

Web Version of SciFinder Scholar

The web version of SciFinder is available now. This new version will provide you with many of the powerful analysis tools found in the client version of SciFinder, as well as new features to help improve productivity. To register, please go to the GU Registration web page. You need to be on campus to register, but you can access the web version from off-campus after registration. The login URL to search SciFinder Web is: scifinder.cas.org. The off-campus access login URL is: http://proxy.library.georgetown.edu/login?url=https://scifinder.cas.org

If you're already registered, but do not remember either your user name or password, you can click on the "Forgot Username or Password?" link on the login page https://scifinder.cas.org/. You just need to enter your GU email address and answer a secret question (i.e. which city were you born?) to retrieve your username and password.

CAS SciFinder Support Center

At the SciFinder Support Center, you'll find a variety of tutorials and "how-to" guides and can sign-up for instructor-led training events and weekly practice sessions.
