There are a number of requests you can perform for a book:
You may recall any book checked out to another patron.
You may request a search for a book that you could not find on the shelf or have a book pulled from the shelf that has an "available" status in GEORGE and you choose the pickup location.
You
may request items located at the off
campus storage facility to be retrieved (the
material usually arrives within two business
days).
To initiate these types of requests, use GEORGE to locate the
book you want and select the
button.
If you are not logged in, you will be ask to log in at this point and upon successful login, the request page appears:

Choose a pick-up location and enter any special instructions.
You will see the following screen:
Click on the "Request Selected Item" button. You will be notified via email when
books recalled, searched, pulled, or retrieved from off-campus storage are available
for pickup at the location you have
selected.
Items will be held at the Circulation
Desk for 8 days.
You will receive an email or a print
notice when an item you recalled
is ready for pickup.
You can check the status of your
requests by selecting "Display
held items" option while viewing
your account in GEORGE.
Remember, as a borrower, all your
books are subject to recalls and
holds.
You will receive an email if your book(s) is recalled for another patron.
Return the book by the new
due date on the notice.
If you do not return a recalled
item by the new due date, a block
will be placed on your circulation
record and you will not be able
to borrow additional items or
renew checked out items. Overdue recall
fines are $5.00 a day.
