»Your Library Liaisons

In 2005 the Lauinger Library will reorganize its collection development operations through the creation of a smaller, more focused group of bibliographers who will be able to spend more time developing our collections. Through realignment of staff positions and responsibilities we will fully implement a new Collection Development Department and create a structure that will allow us to be even more engaged with the teaching, learning and research activities of the university. Effective this month, we are reassigning some of the library liaison responsibilities. You will find a current list of subject areas and the bibliographers assigned to them here.

We will arrange meetings with faculty to discuss your collection needs and to introduce you to new staff who may be assigned to your area. If you have any questions about the new structure, please contact Karl Debus-Lopez, Associate University Librarian for Collections and Technical Services.

»Can't Find it at Georgetown?

Suppose you’ve identified a journal article or book title that promises to be perfect for your research, but now you’re having trouble finding it. A new “Can’t Find It at GU” link offers clear instructions for locating your elusive article or book, with the links you’ll need to complete each step. The “Can’t Find It” link is available on the Library’s homepage under “Catalogs” and “Journal Finder” and from every page in GEORGE (the online catalog). If you still have questions after using the “Can’t Find It” checklist, please remember that reference librarians can help you in person or via our online reference chat service called Online Help. Either way, link or librarian, the goal is to help you move from “Can’t Find It” to “Found It!”
