»Encore Development Partnership

Georgetown University Library has joined 12 other academic and public libraries in a development partnership with Innovative Interfaces to test a next-generation library interface called Encore. Encore is a unified search and access tool which builds on existing online public access catalog (OPAC) technology and pulls in new features, including:

      • federated search (searches across multiple search services returning a consolidated list of results);
      • opportunities for community and patron participation and tagging;
      • a more dynamic and interactive interface.

Other partners include Binghamton University [SUNY] (NY), Deakin University (Australia), Deschutes (OR), Michigan State University, Nashville Public Library (TN), Scottsdale Public Library System (AZ), Springfield-Greene County Library (MO), The Tri-College Consortium (PA), University of Glasgow (Scotland), University of Queensland Library (Australia), Westerville Public Library (OH), and Yale University's Lillian Goldman Law Library (CT).

»See the fall multimedia workshops available from the Gelardin New Media Center and sign up for them here.

»Revisit The Hoya (1959-1980) online at Digital Georgetown.

Read a history of The Hoya and browse/search the issues by date or by keyword searches in the Washington Research Library Consortium's Student Newspaper Collection.
