»Angel Tree 2006

Lauinger Library is participating in the Georgetown University Angel Tree 2006 project, a benefit to collect books for children in the DC community. Pick up an angel off one of the Angel Trees, buy a new book, write a personal note in the book, and drop it off in Lauinger's lobby or at any of the other drop-off sites around campus. Your generosity will provide new books to children in local schools, shelters, and after-school programs. The drive continues through December 24.

»Faculty--Planning to use Audio or Video Materials in your Spring Courses?

The Gelardin New Media Center is preparing for the Spring semester and we want to make sure that media you plan to use for your classes is going to be available when you need it. Please check our catalog to make sure we have what you need. If we do not already own an item that you would like us to purchase for the spring, contact the bibliographer for your subject area as soon as possible. If we DO already own material you plan to use, please fill out our media reserve form and send it to us at the address or email below. Our media collections are heavily used and we want to ensure the availability of the media you need when you need it.

*Mail forms to:* Gelardin New Media Center, Lauinger Library, 3700 N St., N.W., Washington D.C. 20057
Email: gelardin@georgetown.edu

To allow us to process your requests before the semester begins, please send the form by January 5, 2007. It can take us up to 3 business days to process your materials.

If you have more than 35 students in the course, would you like to make the materials available through Blackboard?

If you would like audio and video materials available to your students through Blackboard, please submit your reserve lists for the Spring as soon as possible. Requests received before December 29th will be processed and loaded onto the server by January 10th; requests received after January 5th will be encoded on a first come, first served basis and may take up to 7 business days to be available on Blackboard. Because this streaming service is still a pilot program, we are currently loading content on the server only for classes with an enrollment of 35 students or more.
