Classroom
Technology Zones
To better serve faculty and students
using classroom technology, CETS has divided the Main Campus
into five classroom technology zones.
Each zone consists of one or more buildings with
classrooms and seminar rooms in close proximity to each other. CETS
serves these rooms either with built-in technology, or with portable
equipment which CETS staff delivers to the classroom.
A full-time Classroom Technology
Zone Manager (TZM)
provides CETS services in that zone, including training on the technology
in each particular
room, and supervises CETS student assistants working in that zone.
The TZM is responsible for the full functioning of
all technology in that zone, and coordinates maintenance and repair
of
computers
with the
CETS Classroom Computer Coordinator/Network
Administrator, and of
other technology with the CETS Engineering Department.
We are working
to provide a workstation for each TZM within his
or her Zone, with each TZM working closely with our Main
Office, ICC121,
including our Database Manager/Scheduler.
At night, and on weekends, the functions of all TZMs are
consolidated to a single supervisor working out of the Main Office.
As additional classroom buildings are brought online,
we hope to create additional Classroom Technology Zones to better
serve the G.U.community. Because most technology preparation, troubleshooting,
and impromptu training
occurs in the 10 or 20 minute window between classes, there is a
finite number of rooms each TZM can service at each class change.
At present,
the five existing zones are (in alphabetical order):
1) The Central Zone (Healy, Maguire, New North,
Old North, New South and Reynolds 130, 131 and 133)
Michele Loera , TZM
2) The ICC Zone
Luis Del Villar , TZM
3) The Reiss/White-Gravenor Zone
Chad Bilyeu, TZM
4) The St. Mary's Zone
Mary Katherine Ciccodicola , TZM
5) The Walsh/Car Barn (300, 301, 302A, 303, 306 & 315) Zone
Andre Dempster , TZM
