Gelardin editing rooms and production studio are now available for 24 hour use Sunday through Thursday.
New Printers
The library Systems Department has installed new printers in the Gelardin New Media Center. The new printers have more memory, and should speed the printing process for larger documents.

Video Editing
What Can Be Done? — Video Editing Projects
- Create video clips and short movies for web pages, PowerPoint presentations, and other presentations
- Borrow equipment, including: mini-DV cameras, digital still cameras, light kits, microphones, digital audio recorders. See our borrowing policies for more information
- Take video from VHS format or mini-DV format and transfer to other formats (DVD, VHS, QuickTime, MPEG-4)
How to Get Started? — Training
- Consult a multimedia specialist in the Center at 202-687-7410 to arrange for an instructional session or project consultation
- Enroll in one of our iMovie or Final Cut Pro video editing workshops offered during every semester
- Attending a consultation/instructional session is required before video editing in the editing room
Where Can it Be Done? — Facilities
- Video editing can be done in the Picchi Multimedia room or one of our seven editing rooms. The Picchi Multimedia room is open 24 hours a day (except from 3-5 am on Sat. and Sun. mornings). The Editing rooms are also available 24 hours a day, but must be reserved in advance by calling 202-687-7410.
- Consult the library hours page to view Center Service Desk hours
- After a patron has completed an instructional session/consultation, s/he is able to make reservations for time in an editing room
Don't want to do it yourself?
- Available video production services include consultation, production, and post-production at the cost of $60 per hour plus the cost of materials
