Born in Virginia in 1795, Mulledy began his education at Georgetown,entered the Society in 1815, and spent the years 1820-1828 in Italy. From1829 until 1837 he was president of Georgetown. Then for two years he was the provincial after which he went again to Europe in 1839 for four years.Returning, he became president of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, then president of St. John's in Frederick; finally he served as a church pastor
in Georgetown and died in 1861.
Of Mulledy's papers, only a relatively small amount is correspondence or material that establish the overt details of his life. Of this, a useful extract for the period 1824-1848 was done in 1920 and is found in Box 1,Folder 10. More than 90 percent of the collection, however, is sermons,instructions, and similar MS material from Mulledy's pen.
