Consists of two published albums recounting the wartime service of theU.S.S. Bataan (CVL 29), 1943-45, and the U.S.S. Bairoko (CVE 115),1945-1946, on both of which McHugh served as a Chaplain in the Pacific. Heattained the rank of Ltcmdr. The first ship, the light carrier Bataan, sawheavy action; the second, the escort carrier Bairoko, came too late to seeany action.
