SERIES: 1. Graham Greene Correspondence


SERIES DESCRIPTION: Forty-three signed letters from Graham Greene to his nephew James Greenecomprise this series. The correspondence is arranged chronologically with 1letter per folder. Many letters are replies to JG's letters, typescripts ofwhich have been collected, bound with numbered pages, and annotated by JG(see Folder 44). The letters by GG in this series are designated in thisfinding aid with a number in [] which indicates the page number of thetypescript copy made by JG appearing in bound form. JG's letters to GG not appearing in this series, but are copied into the bound form, will be referenced when appropriate.

SERIES: 2. James Greene/Graham Greene Letters - Typescript


SERIES DESCRIPTION: This series contains one item: a spiral bound typescript of the exchange ofcorrespondence between James Greene and his uncle, Graham Greene fromNovember 22, 1977 through May 31, 1989. All of the transcribed lettershere from Graham Greene correspond to the originals itemized in Series 1. Itemization of letters in Series 2 will therefore only cover the letters byJames Greene. Page numbers for each letter will be indicated, as in Series1, by brackets []. Order of itemization follows the sequence of letters asbound. There are all together 36 letters from James Greene, besides the 43from Graham Greene. Interspersed are copies of poems by the formeroriginally enclosed with letters to his uncle. The whole bound volume is entitled "Nepotism," and includes a forewordby James Greene entitled, "On Not Getting to Know Graham: An EpistolaryRelationship." Many of the letters are annotated by James Greene. (Box 1,Folder 44) pp.
