DESCRIPTION: Contains original diary notebook of Ricardo J. Alfaro, kept from October 1 through December 31, 1904 during the period of courtship of his wife Amelia Lyons de Alfaro. A memoir by his daughter, Yolanda Alfaro Maddux, describes the diary as "...the only diary my father kept during a period of the courtship, from October through December of 1904...The diary I speak of is a beautiful revelation of the man at 21..." (TMs p.2). Also that, "We did not know this diary existed until the last year of my mother's life following my father's death..." (TMs p.3).
