DESCRIPTION: Contains 2 items from Averill Harriman to RD. The first is a telegram re: RD's new position as European Director of Administration, 6/4/49. The second is a TLS to RD on White House stationary, dated July 29, 1950, praising RD's wisdom.

DESCRIPTION: Contains 21 photographs of the 1934 U.S. Press tour of Japan and 2 photocopies of articles regarding the trip. Most of the pictures are of the group of journalists and their wives with their various hosts. RD can be seen in almost every photograph.
