DESCRIPTION: 1 ALS from Cuthbert Druitt to his mother written from the H.M.S. Constance at Plymouth, England with reference to a disturbance in Jamaica. Druitt explains "they cannot wait for us to be repaired, so they are going to send out another frigate instead of us." He also refers to a "mutiny in the Mediterranean." Druitt writes, "I expect to be a midshipman about the middle of January." Reference also made to the Royal Adelaide.

Reference also made to Madeira. Druitt describes gifts he is sending home for his sisters Ella (Isabella), Emily, and Katie (or Hatie).

Druitt writes, "Yesterday I called on Bishop (Francis) Fulford...He says he remembers Papa very well. He is going home again in the autumn."
