DESCRIPTION: 3-page typescript entitled "Foreword" with handwritten note "Tentative intro. sent to W.H. [William Heinemann?] Jan., 1953" stapled. Originally grouped with a batch of TMs and AMs probably outlines/notes for proposed sections of the bibliography (incl. concept for A,B,C,E,F,G Lists, as well as foreword, acknowledgements, and indexes). Note: based on the ensuing manuscript sections, it would seem that these early list designations were later changed (see description note for Manuscript Series).

Items of interest which do not seem to reappear in ensuing sections of the manuscript series are notes on/lists of books about GG, critical works on GG, theses on GG, books mentioning GG, reviews of specific GG books, and an "X" List designating advertisments of GG works.

DESCRIPTION: Original folder labelled "Graham Greene A List MSS Early Drafts Etc." In order to facilitate use of this material, it has been divided into 5 folders (3:6 through 3:10). The folder divisions have been based as nearly as possible on the original order of the material and, as far as can be determined, on paper type and ink. Note: the original material was undated.

This folder contains TMs interspersed with AMs for the "A" List beginning with the earliest edition of GG's first book publication, "Babbling April" (1925) and ending with "A Burnt-Out Case" (1961).
