Word Cloud with Finance Terms

Note: To get the most out of this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring a laptop. If you want to start a digital currency wallet, come willing to spend $1 on your credit card (optional)

What is "Blockchain" and how does it work?

You may have heard of Bitcoin, the digital currency based on blockchain technology, but did you know there are lots of other blockchain-based currencies? Or that blockchain technology can be used for many other purposes, including smart contracts, digital identity, property management, and more?

In this hands-on workshop presented by the UN Development Programme's AltFin Lab, we'll not only explain how blockchain works, but help you get started with your first digital currency wallet.

We'll talk about how and why you can create your own digital currency. Maker Hub Bucks, anyone?
