Making It Work Together: Integration and Automation in Digital Curation Platforms

In cultural heritage institutions there are a multitude of platforms to manage collections and data. They include those for management, preservation, storage, access, and many others. Often, these tools must work in concert but are not linked in anyway, causing frustration both to front-end and back-end users. With the availability of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), cultural heritage organizations have been able to better integrate their workflows and automate some of their processes, bridging the gaps across their platforms.
