Using Your GOCard in the Library

Checking out and renewing materials
Present your GOCard at the Access Services desk to borrow books and other library materials. To renew books online or view your circulation record, use the new University ID number printed on your GOCard (a nine digit number beginning with the number 8).

Making copies and printing from computer workstation
All computer print stations and microform reader/copiers require the GOCard. All photocopiers use the GOCard. In addition, one photocopier on each floor in Lauinger Library accepts coins and the old Library copy card. Both copiers in the Blommer Science Library accept coins and one accepts the old Library copy card. Copies and printouts cost $0.10 per page.

Accessing Library databases from off-campus
Access to most library databases from off-campus locations requires use of the Library proxy server. Use your University ID number (the nine-digit number beginning with the number 8) when prompted to enter your name and ID.

Adding value to your GOCard
A GOCard Debit Account is automatically set up when your GOCard is created. You may add money to it at any time. Debit Dollars can be added to your GOCard via:

• the GOCard Website (credit card)
• the GOCard Office located in Darnall Hall Room G-3, ground floor to the left of the Darnall Residence Hall entrance and around the corner from the Darnall Dining entrance. Map to GOCard office
• Telephone number (202) 687-2700, open 9:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday; cash, check or credit card
• or at a Value Transfer Station (cash). In Lauinger Library, Value Transfer Stations are located in the third floor copy room and in the Gelardin New Media Center on the first floor. The closest Value Transfer Station for the Blommer Science Library is located in the Leavey Center.

How do visitors get a copying/printing card?Visitors to campus may purchase a guest GOCard from the Value Transfer Stations (cash) located in Lauinger Library on the third floor, in the Gelardin New Media Center on the first floor, or in the Leavey Center. Guest cards may also be purchased at the GOCard Office from 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday (cash, check or credit card). Value can be added to guest cards at the Value Transfer Stations or the GOCard Office.
