How to Find Journal Articles

If you already know the title of the journal that you need, use Journal Finder. To find articles by subject, you will need to use a database or index. Journal articles are not listed in GEORGE, the online catalog. To find a database specific to your subject area or your topic, use the following drop down menus:

Searching these databases will produce a list of journal article citations, and in many cases, the full text (complete) journal article.

• Here is a sample of a citation:

Article title: The making of a rainforest.
Author: Brian Morrissey
Journal title: Natural History June 1998 v107 n5 p56

To find the complete article (if the full text is not available in the database that you are searching), search for the journal title (NOT the article title) in Journal Finder. If the library owns the journal, whether in electronic or print format(s), the Journal Finder will show the location. See How to find journals for more information.
