Initiative on Technology-Enhanced Learning (ITEL)

Georgetown's Initiative for Technology-Enhanced Learning (ITEL) strengthens teaching and learning in on-campus programs and bolsters Georgetown's online activity globally.

Applicants are required to fill out a Library Impact Survey along with each ITEL proposal.

Similar to the impact statements prepared for new program offerings, the impact assessments will outline the projected demand for library services, equipment, and materials. This information will help the grant reviewers determine funding requirements and will aid library staff in preparing to meet new resource demands. The library impact assessment will address:

  • Multimedia equipment, software or instruction.
  • Digitization of course materials.
  • Archiving of reusable course content or student assignments.
  • Documents, rare books, archives, artwork, manuscripts from Special Collections.
  • Research instruction, tutorials, subject consultations.
  • Use of library computer classrooms, high-tech rooms, Skype, GoToMeeting services.
  • Copyrighted materials, reserves, online resources, images or audiovisual materials. Guidance on the use of copyrighted material.  See the Copyright Procedures for Use of Instructional Material in Online Courses for more information.
