Preservation Week 2013

April 21-27 is Preservation Week 2013!  Every day, the Library works hard to preserve and protect our many treasures and resources—such as books, rare manuscripts, historical artifacts, audio and visual materials, digital assets and much more.  But it is not just the Library’s collections that need preservation; your own treasures and resources contribute to intellectual and historical culture.  Here are a few suggestions to help keep your stuff safe for the future:

  • Handle your books gently and with clean hands.
  • Back up your data routinely and with more than one copy.
  • Protect your photographs from too much light.
  • Store your family’s documents in clean places.
