is a forum for innovative anatomical research at all levels of
organization, from subcellular to macroscopic, and in morphogenesis, with
emphasis on humans and higher vertebrates. The journal offers rapid
exchange of novel and significant information gained from experimental and
theoretical investigations on all aspects that are pertinent to the
formation and transformation of biological structure. Topics include
vertebrate embryology, cell biology, neuroanatomy, functional and clinical
anatomy and ultrastructure. Due to a rigorous review process, all accepted
manuscripts are of very high quality. This policy ensures that ‘Acta
Anatomica’ maintains its long-standing position as a leading reference to
international progress in anatomy.
