Acta Paediatrica is a monthly journal which publishes papers
in English, covering both clinical and experimental
research, in all fields of paediatrics including
developmental physiology.

The journal was founded in 1921 by a group of Swedish
paediatricians. Since 1990 the journal has been published
monthly. The title of the journal was originally Acta
Pædiatrica. In 1965 Scandinavica was added in order to
emphasize that the journal was intended to be a forum
mainly for paediatric research in the Nordic countries. In
1991 Scandinavica was, however, omitted as Acta Paediatrica
has become a truly international journal with contributions
from all over the world.

The journal is owned by a foundation of Swedish
paediatricians and governed by a board of trustees elected
by the foundation.
