Acta Slavica Iaponica

Publisher: Slavic Research Center, Hokkaido University

The Slavic Research Center (SRC) is the only research institute in Japan
for comprehensive Slavic-Eurasian studies. Thus it functions, being
attached to Hokkaido University, as the national center to lead and
coordinate academic activities in this research area.

The main purpose of the SRC is to be engaged in and to promote research on
Slavic-Eurasian countries. It carries on comprehensive, interdisciplinary
research in an open academic environment. The SRC promotes the exchange of
opinion and information among specialists in Japan and overseas. While the
SRC organizes joint research projects, holds conferences and seminars,
collects research materials, disseminates information, it also provides
support to visiting scholars and extends fellowships to graduate students.

Acta Slavica Iaponica, a journal published once a year in European languages
since 1983, has developed to become an international refereed journal. Acta
Slavic Iaponica provides a forum for dialogue between Japanese and foreign
Slavic specialists. The contents of each edition as well as subsequent
papers from number 15, 1997, are available to anyone on the SRC web site.
