Publisher: Oxford University Press on behalf of the International
Institute for Strategic Studies

The Adelphi Paper monograph series is the Institute's principal
contribution to policy-relevant, original academic research. These
papers are targeted at providing rigorous analysis of strategic and
defence topics that will prove useful to academics, researchers,
politicians and diplomats, as well as foreign-affairs analysts, defence
commentators and journalists.

The Adelphi Paper series analyses current and future issues of
international security. It provides essential reading for students of
international relations and all those wishing to broaden their
understanding of world security developments.

Specialists will find individual Adelpi Papers focusing on Europe, Asia,
the Middle East, non-proliferation, conflict resolution and defence
economics.

Taken together, the annual Adelphi 'library' of eight to ten titles per
year continues to be the best comprehensive analysis of worldwide
strategic issues available in monograph form.
