Published twice yearly, Adolescence is a Journal of psychoanalysis,
psychopathology and human sciences. Inaugurated in Spring 1983 by a group
of psychoanalysts daily involved in clinical research and practice with
adolescents, it is specifically interested in the study of adolescent
processes and psychotherapy. The themes dealt with entail pondering about
unconscious processes. Research methods are fundamentally psychoanalytic
ones (35% of the papers are theoretical papers and 45% structured clinical

However, since increasing difficulties encountered by adolescents are
linked with socio-economic realities and the crisis of values, beyond a
psychoanalytic point of view, the Journal wishes to give an account of
most other fields of knowledge that may be of paramount importance. Hence,
up-to-date facts and epidemiological researches may also play a part and
represent about 25% of the papers.
