Aisthema, International Journal

Description:

Aisthema (from the greek αἴσθημα, "perception") is an open access electronic Journal, based on a blind peer-reviewed process, published by the Department of Historical-Philosophical Studies "Pasquale Orlando" at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, section "St. Thomas Aquinas”, in Naples.

In the awareness of the metaphysical and sapiential dimension of Philosophy it aims to promote the philosophical research through the dissemination of texts which, devoted to classical or contemporary issues, can look, going beyond the fences of the rigid academic curricula, at the intersection of knowledges, methodologies and languages diversified, in primis the theological one.

In the wake of the provisions of the Decree on the Reform of Ecclesiastical Studies of Philosophy, the Journal stands and proposes itself as an additional tool for the promotion of the philosophical sciences within the ecclesiastical Faculties of philosophy and theology. A scientific journal that, despite being born in the context of the “Universitas”, beyond any self-referentiality wants to confront in fairness, independence and freedom with new forms and other "places" – not necessarily "canonical" and institutional – of theoretical elaboration.
