The aim of ACC Current Journal Review is to provide the information that
physicians who care for patients with, or with the potential for
developing, cardiovascular disease must have in order to practice
competent state-of-the-art clinical care now and in the future. Because
optimal patient care is the force that drives the practice of medicine,
reading and learning are most effective when the material presented
revolves around the solution of specific clinical problems. Thus, ACC
Current Journal Review focuses on the principles and knowledge base of
cardiovascular medicine as applied to clinical problem solving. The
material is presented in a brief, concise and understandable format to
meet the needs of the accelerated pace of practice today. Whereas the
scope of ACC Current Journal Review encompasses cardiovascular medicine in
its entirety, each issue will focus on a few areas. Consistent reading
will provide the core body of information required for clinical competence
and an understanding of the scientific foundations of cardiovascular
medicine.
