Amerika: Memoires, Identites, Territoires

Amerika: Mémoires, Identités, Territoires

Publisher: Université Rennes 2

Amerika arises out of the perceived dearth of and need for an outlet for academic debate and dissemination of interdisciplinary research on the Americas from the 19th century through to the 21st century.

Thus our e-journal aims to provide a forum for discussion on the culture, history, language, sociology of a geographical area while at the same time taking account of the effects of globalisation. Latin America is present, not only physically from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego, including the Caribbean zone, but thrives also in the United States, in Europe and on the other continents.

Amerika publishes articles and thematic issues around memories, identities and territories of the Americas (English, French , Lusophone, Hispanic).

The journal is intended as a meeting place for debate about conflicting interpretations concerning the singularity of the American people in an area with moving and porous borders. It is particularly interested in the Americas from the nineteenth century, but also appreciates diachronic looks taking this period as an anchor.

Articles may be written in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese.
