Diagnostic Pathology is an Open Access, peer-reviewed, online journal soon
to be launched by BioMed Central.

Diagnostic Pathology will encompass all aspects of surgical and clinical
pathology, with a special focus on cutting-edge approaches in diagnostic
pathology and tissue-based therapy.

The journal will cover the field of surgical pathology, including classic
diagnostic pathology, prognosis-related diagnosis and therapy-related
findings. It will also focus on the technological aspects of pathology,
including molecular biology techniques, morphometry aspects, communication
aspects and electronic education and quality assurance.

The journal will consider the following types of article: research, reviews,
book reviews, case reports, commentaries, database articles, debate
articles, hypotheses, methodology articles, short reports, software articles
and study protocols.

Manuscripts submitted to Diagnostic Pathology will be evaluated initially by
the Editor-in-Chief, who will assign at least 2 expert reviewers either
directly, or through a Section Editor. It is expected that the review period
will not exceed three weeks.
