BUDWEISER, SMOKIN' JOE'S TEAMS ON THE COLUMBIA

Roland DeSteese checks in from Kennewick with the info that the
Budweiser team was in the Tri-Cities on Monday and Tuesday of this week
(May 15 & 16) to test their Turbine IV (tandem wing) hull. They have
incorporated the full width airtrap front canard wing (similar to the
design sported by the T-3 hull in Phoenix). They made test runs with
and without the canard.
The Smokin' Joe's team was scheduled to be on the Columbia River
Thursday and Friday, testing both the regular and backup hulls in
preparation for their upcoming defense of the Gold Cup.
