Experimental & Translational Stroke Medicine (ETSM)

Publisher: BioMed Central

Experimental & Translational Stroke Medicine (ETSM) is an open access,
peer-reviewed, online journal dedicated to presenting original
research and review articles on any topic that relates to identifying
and solving problems in translational stroke research. By offering a
high-visibility forum for new insights and discussions, the journal
aims to help improve the quality of experimental stroke research in
order to increase the rate of successful translation of novel
treatment strategies into clinical practice.

Basic stroke research creates and explores in vitro and in vivo models
with the objective of gaining novel insights into the
pathophysiological processes occurring during ischemic brain damage
with subsequent application to innovative treatment strategies.

ETSM invites content related to: experimental stroke models and their
methodological limitations; preclinical treatment trials; improved
diagnostic methods that could be translated to human stroke; the
pathophysiology of stroke (with special emphasis on the ischemic
penumbra, thrombus formation, neuro-protection, pre-/post
conditioning, regeneration and repair) and work on the benefits and
limitations of experimental disease models in the field of neurology,
when applicable to stroke.
