The use and importance of biomedical polymers, especially in pharmacology,
is growing rapidly. The Journal of Bioactive and Compatible Polymers
provides biomedical polymer scientists and researchers with new information
on important advances in this field.

Coverage includes:

* Advances in biomedical polymers: chemistry, performance, applications

* Original research reports by leaders in this field from around the world

* Applications in drug delivery including: controlled release, prodrugs,
wound healing and other biomedical applications

* Special attention to new, novel and modified polymers

* Current Literature Reviews in each issue

Examples of specific areas of interest to the journal include: polymeric
drugs and drug design; polymeric functionalization and structures related to
biological activity or compatibility; natural polymer modification to
achieve specific biological activity or compatibility; enzyme modelling by
polymers; membranes for biological use; liposome stabilization and cell
modeling.

The journal also includes the bioactive and compatible polymers citation
index. A valuable aid to the researcher, each issue contains citations of
the current literature on bioactive and compatible polymers, and related
subjects, presented in alphabetical order by subject (e.g., Animal Models,
Artificial Blood, Artificial Organs, Artificial Pancreas . . .).
