Press Release

un changement important / a relaunch

The CNRS (France) and The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
(UK) are pleased to be working together to publish New Journal
of Chemistry (NJC) from 1998, with the aim of further
enhancing its European and international nature, as well as to
encompass all branches of chemistry.

With this in mind, new International Editorial Boards will be
appointed

* an Editorial Board comprising eminent European and
international chemists representing all branches of
chemistry
* Associate Editors in Europe and the Americas
* an International Advisory Board of eminent international
chemists

Editorial links to Chemical Communications and Chemical
Society Reviews are being established, to form a group of
complementary Essential Chemistry journals.

It is our intention to continue to publish NJC as a not-for-profit
journal rooted in France with Odile Eisenstein (CNRS,
Montpellier 2) as Editor-in-Chief and Dr Denise Parent (CNRS)
as Staff Editor at Montpellier.

Journal features include

* page-based electronic versions of all papers will be
available online in fully searchable format via CatchWord
and OCLC at no extra cost, for site-wide access
* contents pages will be made available via the World Wide
Web at no charge
* 12 issues per year
* each issue contains an illustrated contents list and author
index
* annual author index in issue 12
* 25 reprints of each paper are provided free to the authors
free colour reproduction (where scientifically necessary)
* no page charges
* papers are internationally peer reviewed
