Revista de Estudios Sociales (RES)

Revista de Estudios Sociales (RES)

Publisher: Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia)

The Revista de Estudios Sociales (RES) is an academic journal published
since 1998 by the Social Sciences¹ Faculty of the Universidad de los Andes
and the Fundación Social.

With three issues each year (in April, August, and December), RES
contributes to the diffusion of research, analyses, and opinions that both
national and international scholars, in addition to other non-academic
sectors of society, have on social problems.

In this sense, the journal seeks to broaden the scope of social research,
with aims to understand better our reality and improve the population¹s
living conditions.

The structure of the journal is brought into being by an editorial policy
focused on various aspects, some of them which are: to provide a space where
different theoretical, researching, and bibliographic discourses come
together; to assist the Social Sciences¹ information exchange between Latin
American countries; to circulate the journal among various reading
communities and not only academic ones; in order to turn knowledge into a
social good, incorporate multiple languages and genres, such as essays,
recounts, reports and debates; and, finally, present a flexible concept of
social research, by means of including expressions that do not belong to the
Social Sciences¹ realm.
