Recently there have been many complaints about journal prices on this
list. One way to avoid having library budgets devoured by a steadily
declining number of journals is to persuade our academic colleagues to
start free (or, if they must charge for access, non-profit making)
journals on World Wide Web. For an example of an Open Access journal
that has started in the last few days see the _Web Journal of Current
Legal Issues_.

The first issue has two articles likely to be of interest to many
people on this list:

Lawyering on the Internet
(Link inactive 19 April 2005)

Usenet News and the Law
(Link inactive 19 April 2005)

In computer science and mathematics there is also a welcome tendency to
put journals on the Web. For a few examples see the relevant section of
my computer science guide on the Exeter Web -
