The aims and scope of the journal are as follows:

To provide an intellectual hub for the International Society of Metal Music Studies and a vehicle to promote the development of metal music studies;

To be the focus for research and theory in metal music studies – a multidisciplinary (and interdisciplinary) subject field that engages with a range of parent disciplines, including (but not limited to) sociology, musicology, humanities, cultural studies, geography, philosophy, psychology, history, natural sciences;

Journal of World Popular Music

Journal of World Popular Music is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes research and scholarship on recent issues and debates surrounding international popular musics, also known as World Music, Global Pop, World Beat or, more recently, World Music 2.0. The journal provides a forum to explore the manifestations and impacts of post-globalizing trends, processes, and dynamics surrounding these musics today.

Irish Journal of Arts Management and Cultural Policy

The Irish Journal of Arts Management and Cultural Policy is a new peer-reviewed, open access e-journal publishing original research on the arts and cultural sector in Ireland.

An initiative based at the School of Art History and Cultural Policy, University College Dublin (UCD), it seeks to provide a readable and engaging discussion of recent arts management and cultural policy research for academics and practitioners, encourage new research directions in the sector and offer a platform for aspiring researchers and writers.

Acta Artis: Estudis d’Art Modern

ACTA ARTIS is a scientific journal in electronic and print format that is produced by the ACAF/ART research group. Its aim is to promote, communicate and disseminate research, criticism and debate on art, architecture and visual art processes in the modern era (from the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries). ACTA ARTIS is aimed at an academic and professional audience and society in general. It is released once a year and contains original, previously unpublished articles on research results and progress in the field.

Architecture Research

The Architecture Journal is an independent channel for free thinkers and practitioners of architecture. It is intended to facilitate the systematic development of the scientific body of knowledge in the field of architecture. New editions are issued with articles designed to offer perspective, share knowledge, and help you learn the discipline and pursue the art of architecture.

Mathematical Design & Technical Aesthetics

The journal “Mathematical Design & Technical Aesthetics” (ISSN 2306-1405) publishes original papers of advanced scientific value, survey papers, as well as, short communications in all realms of CAGD, Geometric Modeling, Computer Aided Aesthetic and Ergonomic Design, Technical Aesthetics, Art Criticism, and Plastic Arts.

One of the cordial goals of this journal is integrating science and art, as condition of the technical progress of humanity and spiritual development of the personality.

Journal of the International Society for Orthodox Church Music

The International Society for Orthodox Church Music (founded 2005) is pleased to announce its new online peer-reviewed journal, the Journal of the International Society for Orthodox Church Music is now available.

Publication will be annual and available as a PDF download here on the ISOCM website. The first edition is available for all to view and access, while access to future editions will require members in the Society.

Athens Journal of Humanities & Arts

The Athens Journal of Humanities and Arts (AJHA) is a quarterly double blind peer reviewed journal and considers papers from all areas of arts and humanities, including papers on history, philosophy, linguistics, language, literature, visual and performing arts. Many of the papers published in this journal have been presented at the various conferences sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Research Division of the Athens Institute for Education and Research.


SPOOL is a new journal initiative in the field of ‘architecture and the built environment’ with a strong emphasis on four key topics: Science of Architecture, Climate Change, Energy Efficiency Building, and Urban Europe.

The Journal of Illustration provides an international forum for scholarly research and investigation of a range of cultural, political, philosophical, historical, and contemporary issues, in relation to illustration. Journal of Contemporary Drama in English

The Journal of Contemporary Drama in English focuses on issues in contemporary Anglophone dramatic literature and theatre performance. It renegotiates the understanding of contemporary aesthetics of drama and theatre by treating dramatic texts of the last fifty years. The peer-reviewed journal publishes essays that engage in close readings of plays and also touch upon historical, political, formal, theoretical and methodological aspects of contemporary drama, theatre and performance.

Architecture and Culture

Architecture and Culture, the international, peer-reviewed journal of the Architectural Humanities Research Association, investigates the relationship between architecture and the culture that shapes and is shaped by it. Whether culture is understood extensively, as shared experience of everyday life, or in terms of the rules and habits of different disciplinary practices, Architecture and Culture asks how architecture participates in and engages with it and how both culture and architecture might be reciprocally transformed.


Figura: Studi Sull’immagine Nella Tradizione Classica is a new international journal to be published twice yearly online with unrestricted access, in order to disseminate current research and writing on the Classical Tradition’s repertoire. The journal will encompass studies of Antiquity’s visual and textual culture, as well as appropriations and transfigurations of this legacy in the ancient and post-ancient world.


With theatrama, we want to offer young theatre makers and playwrights the space to share their work and their perspectives with an international audience. The magazine is designed in the way that each issue is dedicated to one topic. In the issue, the main article sets up the frame of the issue and the anchoring points. This framework is a carefully selected limitation of the topic for a comprehending and comprehensive discussion. Creative Space

The Journal Creative Space offers architects, academics and researchers opportunities for accessing and sharing knowledge on various aspects of the built environment and, be a part of a more speculative design environment. Articles and writings would include, among others, critical thinking on architecture, town planning and urbanism, landscape design, , building technology, including construction methods and structure systems, management of historic buildings and urban landscapes and, art in architecture.


Datatèxtil is the CDMT’s trade magazine, published twice a year. The magazine fills a gap in the market for art, history and heritage publications which only rarely focus on textiles.

Since issue number 28, the magazine has been published in digital format, and can be downloaded for free.
