We are currently installing new doors in the stairwell in Lauinger Library. During this time, visitors will not be able to use landings that are under construction, either to enter that floor or pass through en route to another. We encourage visitors to use the elevators, although the stairwell may still be used to access floors that are not under construction. Landings under construction should only be used in the case of an emergency.

"Big Band Era" Friday Music Series Concert

The Library Associates once again partnered with the Georgetown Music Program to host the year’s opening Friday Music Series concert, “Big Band Era,” on Friday, September 20. This year’s concert featured Professor Aaron Broadus leading the Georgetown Jazz Ensemble in a rousing program of big band classics recalling the years when artists such as Benny Goodman and Gene Krupa performed for the student body.

The concert was followed by a reception in the Murray Room on the 5th floor of Lauinger Library and a viewing of the exhibition The Big Band Era at Georgetown in the Leon Robbin Gallery. The exhibition is open to the public whenever the Library is open, so stop by and check in out!
