An Enhanced GEORGE: Easier than Ever to Find the Library's Riches
Finding quality information has never been easier. GEORGE, the catalog of books, journals, government publications, electronic resources, audio and video materials, theses and dissertations available from the main and medical campus libraries is redesigned and enhanced.
Search results now more clearly display location, availability, and bibliographic details about each item and guide you to similar materials. In many cases, you'll also see tables of contents, summaries, book reviews, and book covers.
On the right side of your results screen, you'll find an exciting new enhancement that uses your search terms to find books in other library catalogs, journal articles from selected journal databases, and other Web resources. For example, click on the WRLC catalog link to find DC-area holdings of similar books - or on the WorldCat link for the holdings of libraries across the globe. Select Google Books to look for your terms in the full text of books available there. Access to Georgetown's Law Library catalog, GULLiver, has never been more convenient.

Without changing screens, you can now find journal articles on your topic by selecting Academic Search Premier or ProQuest Research Library, both general multi-disciplinary databases with full text from news sources and from general-interest and scholarly magazines. Likewise, clicking on JSTOR or Google Scholar will take you to scholarly articles indexed in those databases. Why point you to these other databases? Because by itself, GEORGE provides access to only a small fraction of the article sources offered by the libraries. The rest come via library subscriptions to over 400 discipline-specific bibliographic, data, image, and sound databases. To find the best topical databases, click on Research Advisor or Subject Guides under the "More Information by Subject" heading.
