New Databases on Civil Rights and More

The Library has purchased several new databases for use by all Georgetown students, faculty and staff. Check them out below!

JSTOR Arts & Sciences XIII and Ecology & Botany II – These new JSTOR modules provide access to nearly 150 new journals covering topics from European church history to seed technology. Access JSTOR from the Library’s website.

Harvard University Press eBooks, 2011-2014 – More than 500 new e-books published by Harvard University Press, including titles such as Immigration Economics by George J. Borjas and Chivalry in Medieval England by Nigel Saul.

Gale Virtual Reference Library – More than 2500 reference materials available in e-book form.

State Papers Online:  The Government of Britain, 1509-1714 – The largest digital manuscript archive of its kind, this database contains 16th- and 17th- century British State Papers and links these rare historical manuscripts to their fully text-searchable Calendars, offering Early Modern scholars unprecedented access to the behind the scenes workings of the Tudor and Stuart governments.

ProQuest History Vault, Black Freedom Struggle in the 20th Century:  Organizational Records and Personal Papers, Part I – Consisting of records of civil rights organizations and personal papers,  ths database also covers other aspects of African American life in the 20th century, like religion, sports, education, fraternal organizations, and even the field of entertainment.

ProQuest Trench Journals and Unit Magazines of the First World War – Over 1500 journals and magazines published by military and support units from every involved nation in WWI.

American Chemical Society Symposium Series – The ACS Symposium Series contains peer-reviewed eBooks developed from ACS technical divisions' symposia. Each chapter is carefully authored by an expert in the field, and the collection of chapters edited by an internationally recognized leader in the field. The series covers a broad range of topics including agricultural and food chemistry, cellulose and renewable materials, chemical education, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials, and many others.
