New Decade of Yearbooks Available in DigitalGeorgetown
The Library has recently digitized a new decade of Ye Domesday Bookes! You can now browse the 1951-1960 volumes in the Library’s Georgetown University Yearbooks collection. 1951-1960 were busy and productive years on the Hilltop!
- See photos and read a first-hand account of the dedication of the McDonough Memorial Gymnasium in the 1952 volume.
- Read about Georgetown a track star who represented the United States at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki in the 1953 volume.
- See images and details from the day of the dedication of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in the 1960 volume.
No matter the year, Georgetown yearbooks provide a rich picture into the lives and activities on the Hilltop throughout Georgetown’s history. Within them you see snapshots of the changes on campus, changes in our nation’s capital, and an often humorous take on campus life in both the articles and the captions written by Ye Domesday Booke’s student staff.
