Earth Day was originally started in 1970 by Wisconsin senator Gaylord Nelson, who wanted to raise public consciousness and galvanize bipartisan political support for environmental stewardship. The first earth day led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. What will you do this Earth Day?
