- Libraries & Spaces
We are currently installing new doors in the stairwell in Lauinger Library. During this time, visitors will not be able to use landings that are under construction, either to enter that floor or pass through en route to another. We encourage visitors to use the elevators, although the stairwell may still be used to access floors that are not under construction. Landings under construction should only be used in the case of an emergency.
You asked and we answered! In response to user requests, the Library has relocated its extensive DVD collection to the second floor of Lauinger Library outside the Midnight Mug. This move makes the collection, previously stored in the Gelardin New Media Center, easily browsable for the first time ever.
Feature films are shelved first by language and then in alphabetical order for easy perusing. Nonfiction titles are organized by Library of Congress classification just like books so that films of the same subject are shelved together. New titles will be prominently displayed next to the staff elevator outside the Midnight Mug.
In order to check out a DVD, bring the empty DVD case from the shelf to the Circulation Desk on the third floor to pick up the disc. Note that films on reserve for courses will be available from the Circulation Desk, not shelved on the second floor.
Music CDs can be requested at the Circulation Desk as well.
